Cowboy Stew...The Verdict

WOW was that good!  I still am skeptical about the canned potatoes...the texture is a bit different, I think I will just dice some red potatoes in the next time we make this....but it was delicious!

It again got a 7 out of 10 from the hubby :)

This made so much that I ended up freezing the leftovers, we could defiantly eat a whole meal with the leftovers!

Whats For Dinner?

Tonight we are having Cowboy Stew....

It should be interesting, I must admit I have never before opened a can of potatoes, I didnt even know they sold canned potatoes :/  I am a little skeptical....

I just put everthing together in the crock, it smells really good, and because I am not a patient person, I had to give it a try...it tastes really good even cold....so I am hopeful! :)

Cheeseburger Soup...

We had Cheeseburger Soup for dinner tonight, it was a hit :) Levi our youngest  (15 months) ate all of his plus some.  Ayden or oldest son (2.5 years) filled up on bread and fruit as usual before trying his soup, he didn't eat much of it, but he said it was good.  Darrel gave it a 7 out of 10 which means he really liked it since a 10 for him consists of a medium rare rib-eye....

This is something we would defiantly make again! :)

Family Challenge...

A few days ago I purchased the book "Make it fast, Cook it slow"  Written by Stephanie O'Dea Author of the blog Crockpot365.blogspot.com

My husband and  I were both fascinated at the idea of using the Crockpot every day.  I told him that we should try to use it everyday for a month and see how it worked out for us.  His comeback was 'Why not just do it for a whole year, Saturday is the 1st"  haha so that is our plan...to use the Crockpot every single day for a whole year, just like Stephanie O'Dea did.  We have already been using it often, but the official start of our family challenge is going to be January 1st 2011.  We will be making several recipes from "Make it fast, Cook it slow" But I am sure we will be doing some trial and error type things too :)

This should be a fun year!  I am excited to get started...

Tonight we are making Cowboy Soup...It smells great!
